Pressure is the force exerted on an object by something else. Pressure measurements are most often used in meteorology, marine, and industrial applications. There are many different types of pressure, including fluid and liquid pressure, vapor and gas pressure, stagnation pressure, surface pressure, and negative pressure, Pressure is commonly measured in pascals or pounds per square inch, PSI. Pressure equals force applied divided by the area of the object, ie. p = F / A. Static fluid pressure can also be found by multiplying fluid density times height, times gravity, ie. P = ρgh.
