How to Convert Milligrams to Carats

Scales are used to measure weight

To convert a milligram measurement to a carat measurement, divide the weight by the conversion ratio. One carat is equal to 200 milligrams, so use this simple formula to convert:

carats = milligrams ÷ 200

The weight in carats is equal to the milligrams divided by 200.

For example, here's how to convert 500 milligrams to carats using the formula above.
500 mg = (500 ÷ 200) = 2.5 ct

Milligrams and carats are both units used to measure weight. Keep reading to learn more about each unit of measure.
