What Is a Microohm?

A microohm is a unit used to measure electrical resistance.

The microohm is a multiple of the ohm, which is the SI derived unit for electrical resistance. In the metric system, "micro" is the prefix for millionths, or 10-6. Microohms can be abbreviated as µΩ; for example, 1 microohm can be written as 1 µΩ.

How Much Is a Microohm?

One microohm is equal to 1/1,000,000 of an ohm, which is the resistance between two points of a conductor with one ampere of current at one volt.

How to Convert Microohms

To convert microohms to another unit of electrical resistance, you need to multiply the value by a conversion factor. A conversion factor is a numerical value used to change the units of a measurement without changing the value.[1]

You can find the conversion factors for microohms in the conversion table below.

Then, multiply the electrical resistance measurement by the conversion factor to find the equivalent value in the desired unit of measurement.

microohms × conversion factor = result

You can also use a calculator, such as one of the converters below, for the conversion.
