It is primarily measured in Hertz (Hz), where one Hertz is equal to one cycle per second. You can calculate the frequency in Hertz using a formula.

Period to Frequency Formula

To calculate the frequency given a fixed time period, use the following formula:

𝑓 = 1 / T

Where:
𝑓 = frequency in Hertz
T = time period in seconds

Thus, the frequency of a wave 𝑓 is equal to 1 divided by the time period T.

How to Calculate the Period

You can calculate the period if you know the freqyency by rearranging the formula above.

T = 1 / 𝑓

So, the time period T is equal to 1 divided by the frequency 𝑓.
